Google User Data
Our application integrates with Google services, specifically Google Calendar, to provide enhanced functionality. To comply with Google’s data protection requirements, we outline below the types of data we access, how we use this data, and the measures we take to protect user information.
Data Accessed
Our application requests the following permissions from Google Calendar:
- View calendars: We access this data to display your calendar events and schedules within the app.
- Edit calendars: We use this permission to allow users to create, modify, and update events directly from the app.
- Share calendars: This is used to facilitate sharing calendar events with other users or contacts, based on user-initiated actions.
- Permanently delete calendars: This permission allows users to delete events or calendars as needed.
How We Use Google User Data
The Google Calendar data is accessed solely for the purpose of managing your calendars within our application. This includes:
- Displaying upcoming events and schedules.
- Allowing users to add, modify, or delete events.
- Sharing calendar details based on user preferences.
We do not use your data for any other purposes, such as advertising or sharing with third parties without your consent.
Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose your Google Calendar data with third parties, except in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers only to support our application’s functionality (e.g., hosting services). These providers are contractually bound to comply with strict data protection obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
Data Protection
We take the protection of your Google user data seriously. Our application implements several data protection mechanisms, including:
- Encryption: All data transmitted between our app and Google servers is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology.
- Access Control: Only authorized personnel have access to your data, and access is granted strictly on a need-to-know basis.
- Data Minimization: We only access the minimum amount of data necessary to provide the required functionality.
- User Control: You can revoke our application’s access to your Google Calendar data at any time via your Google account settings.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
